Here’s a sneak peek at a recent baby session with the beautiful Adalynn Adams! For my first ever baby session, I’m quite pleased! Of course, the beautiful subject I had to work with might have had a little to do with that!

Adrianne, Addy is beautiful! I hope this little preview can hold you over until I am done editing the rest!

Adalynn Adams

Adalynn couldn’t stop looking at her momma… It was precious!

Ricky and Adrianne, thanks for letting me use your baby as my guinea pig! And thanks for being patient with me during and after the shoot! I love you guy and I’m gonna miss you like crazy!

The requirements for this photo were to use the flash off camera in a unique way. This multiple exposure shot only happened with the perfect synchronization of Tim Tally, Jordan and myself, flash, flashlight, camera, lens bag and complete darkness. It was fun!

Ghosting to emphasize movement:

Indoor fill flash. The flash is supposed to supplement the ambient light in the room, but not overpower it.

Bre’s Sneak Peak

September 18, 2009

I took some senior pictures for my sister-in-law, Breana, on Labor Day at the lake. This semester has been very busy, so I haven’t had time to do anything with her photos but load them onto the computer! Here is the first picture I have edited. A little sneak peak for Breana…and Jill =)
I plan on finishing them up this week, but for now I must focus on some homework. I hope you like them Breana!

This is my very first attempt at adding texture to a photo:

More to come!

I had the privilege of designing informational handouts for the new IgniteGroups starting up this month at IgniteChurch.tv. I enjoyed experimenting with my “designing side” and tried to create a unique theme/feel for each group. I am pretty new at designing, but I enjoy it a lot and I’m proud of my results! =)

Lil Man Vickers

August 14, 2009

I got to visit little Jacob Vickers again for the second time yesterday. Jacob is the third child of Abby and Ryan Vickers at my church. He was born 15 weeks early but is doing really well! He has grown a lot in the past few weeks and is doing better and better. How could he not be doing better when he has such an amazingly loving family! The nurse took his oxygen tube off and cleaned his face off and I got to document the first time that Abby saw her baby’s face with nothing on it. Just his face. He’s gorgeous and she’s a sweetheart and I’m glad I got to capture this special moment.

The nurse, Barbara, works on taking the nose oxygen tube off as Mom, Abby, watches in anticipation.

Of course Mom had to get a photo with her cell phone! =)

Special Mom/Son time!

When I first met Jacob, I was too nervous to touch him. I have to work my nerves up when it comes to holding or, in this case, touching the little ones. They are just so small and fragile! But, this time I got the courage up and touched his tin little hand. He grabbed onto my finger and had a pretty strong grip on me! He was looking around a lot this time. Staring at his mom a lot. =) He is a special boy from an amazing family!

Yesterday we had our first ever church picnic and our second round of baptisms. There was a great turn out, even though it was very hot and humid out. 21 people stepped up and got baptized in the creek. It was a really wonderful celebration! I took over 200 pictures!! Here are a few favorites…

Kyndal showed me her crawdad. She said it looked like a seahorse in this picture!

Of course there was delicious food! Josh brought out his grill and fed us some yummy grilled burgers and dogs.

A rare peaceful moment of Kensey and Elijah just sitting together. =)

There were 21 baptisms!!! It was so cool to document this day!

After it cooled off a little as the sun was going down, the guys played a quick game of football.

All the kids had a blast playing in the creek. Here is Randall and Stephanie’s cute lil girl, Katie.

Financial Crisis

July 4, 2009

Here’s one more video from my class.

Thanks Jordan for all your help in my videos!

Happy 4th of July! Enjoy your friends, family, food and fireworks! Thank you God for choosing this great country and this moment in time for me to live!

I am currently finishing up an Intro to Audio/Video Technology class and I’ve learned an awful lot! This is my first video production. Videography and editing were done by Danielle Snyder and myself. The willing actor was my hubby, Jordan White. Enjoy!    =)

Lighting Assignment

June 17, 2009

Here are the rest of the images from my lighting assignment last semester. I’ve already shown a couple, (Silhouette and ambient/flash balance) but I’ve decided to share the rest.

My photojournalism classes push me to be more creative and increase my technical knowledge as well. I’ve already learn so much in the two semester’s I’ve had and I’m looking forward to the next two!

*Special thanks to Madre, Kate and Jordan for being my willing subjects!
